The River Spey Descent |
5 Days. Monday to Friday. No previous canoeing experience required.

The Spey is one of Scotland's great rivers and your trip takes you from Aviemore to the Moray Firth at Spey Bay. The River is constantly interesting as it descends through whisky country toward the coast. Be prepared for views of Ospreys and leaping salmon as you travel through a variety of habitats from the Cairngorm Mountains to the Sea.

Day One will be spent getting used to the canoes and camping kit on Loch Morlich with an overnight camp at the Glenmore Camp Site.

Days 2 to 5 are spent descending the Spey from Aviemore to Spey Bay with overnight camping by the river. Each boat carries two people and all provisions and camping kit. You may choose to use your own tent (small lightweight versions only) or use ours. Catering will be communal. Once we leave Aviemore we will be independent until we meet our logistics driver on Friday afternoon at Spey Bay
