Old Man of Stoer

Often thought of as Europe's 'last great wilderness', the North West highlands of Scotland offer a sense of solitude which is surprising given the sweeping beauty of its vistas and it's increasing accessibility.

Magnificent striated sandstone and quartzite mountains rise from sparkling sea lochs and bleak moors, offering a kind of wild beauty unique to this country.

Many climbing areas in this area remain relatively untravelled and so retain a sense of adventure uncommon to other areas in Scotland and the rest of Britain. Whilst some of the best classic climbs can be found in this area, it's usually a rarity to meet any other climbers vying for the same route.

These unique characteristics make our North West Highlands Adventures a first-choice destination for those seeking a true wilderness experience.
