Our Staff

Adventure Scotland started life in 1998 as a consortium of adventure activity providers. We were drawn together by common interest, a respect for each other’s skills and a commitment to a quality service. We all believed that what we did was in some way special –a belief we still hold.

Every member of our team is actively passionate about the outdoors and they are inspired by the activities, the environment and the people we work with.

Dave Horrocks

Managing Director

Dave Horrocks divides his time between managing the business, providing safety consultancy to two councils, a handful of outdoor centres and getting out there doing stuff.

He has over 30 years of experience in outdoor education, expedition leadership, coaching and training. Dave is a qualified teacher and spent many years as an Outdoor Education Organiser for Aberdeenshire Council.

Dave is a British Canoe Union Level 5 Coach, BCU White Water Safety & Rescue trainer, Scottish Rafting Association Trainer, BASI qualified Nordic, Alpine & Telemark Ski Instructor, Mountain Leader, Mountain Ski Leader and Scottish National Ski Council Tutor.

He is a Rescue 3 International Swift Water Rescue Advanced Instructor and delivers Adventure Scotland’s Occupational Training for those working in hazardous environments.
