Staff News
Changes afoot.. Adventure Scotland would like to thank Ibrahim Park for all his hard work as our Technical Advisor for cycling over the past few years. Ibrahim has recently taken up a position as Outdoor Education Co-ordinator at Gordonstoun School in Moray and is just too busy to fit us in anymore! We would like to wish Ibrahim and his family all the best for the future.
We have filled the gap with Neil McPherson, an accomplished outdoorsman, biker, skier, climber… We look forward to working with Neil and utilising his numerous skills! More about Neil to come..
More changes.. We are operating from a new office! We now hang our coats upstairs in the Aviemore Business Suite, opposite Tesco’s in the centre of Aviemore. Come and join us for a coffee!
Rope Rescue Seminar Dave H and Graeme recently attended a Rope Rescue Seminar in Colorado. They assured us all that they worked very hard on the other side of the pond and came back having gathered invaluable knowledge & experience, some new techniques and some nifty ways to tie knots!
They enjoyed being on the other side of the classroom so much that on their way home they stopped off in Wales for another course. Both attended the Rescue 3 Boat Operator course with the view to eventually being able to offer this course as an additional service for AS Training & Consultancy.
Not to be outdone on the travel stakes, Claire is off to the Himalayas for a month, visiting the Sikkim area of India, then Bhutan and finally Nepal. Mainly to paddle rivers in the sunshine, but will be doing some trekking & mountain biking too. Some observant readers may have noticed the difference between this trip and the boys trip to Colorado... Claire is definitely not intending to work hard while away!
Paddling in Canada Dave Latham our Development Training Consultant participated in the 2008 David Thompson Bicentennial Commemoration Event in Canada. Dave and his partner Sian travelled about 1200km by Voyageur Canoe… you can read the story HERE.
